Michael Franks was born from a simple idea back in 2012: to rethink the salon experience for both clients and stylists.

 

By 2017, that vision grew into Michael Franks the Salon — a space built to feel welcoming, creative, and inclusive. We’ve always believed that hair is about expression, not labels. That’s why we charge by hair length and service time rather than gender, creating a space where everyone can feel comfortable and confident in their own style.

 

For us, it’s never just about hair. It’s about the people behind it. Every member of our team is chosen not just for their talent, but for their personality, passion, and the way they make others feel. Skills can be taught — but genuine care, enthusiasm, and the drive to grow are what make the Michael Franks Collective special.

 

We also believe the future of hairdressing is independent. That’s why we’ve built a co-working salon model designed to give freelance stylists the freedom to run their own business, while still being part of a supportive, collaborative team. At Michael Franks, you can enjoy the independence you want, with the backup you need.
