WHO WE ARE

 

Darryl and Michael, the founders, started Michael Franks in 2012.

They decided they wanted to switch up the hairdressing experience for both the client and stylist.

Michael started out as a freelance Stylist based in London. This soon lead to some exciting and interesting work locations such as

Porto Venere in Italy and working on set with NBC.

Michael Franks the Salon was created in 2017.

The aim was to create a space where both the client and team felt comfortable to be themselves and would love to be.

Rethinking the salon experience, making it a place to celebrate and enhance our own unique styles. 

Being a gender-neutral space has always been something that is really important,

charging by hair length and service time rather than gender.

The salon is a place for everyone to feel comfortable and create the hair they desire.

When putting the team together Darryl and Michael look for personalities that will complement each other so that each member brings their own unique qualities, experiences and knowledge.

They believe passion for Hairdressing and a great attitude is essential as the rest can be taught.

They wanted a team that cares about the experience they are giving the client as much as they do and who are ready to grow and evolve alongside them.

Michael is our creative Director, a UK Educator for Kevin Murphy, Color.me and Show Pony.

Michael brings the experiences of working on Editorial shoots, London Fashion Week as well as managing and developing salon teams.

​

Darryl, the person behind the business ensured that everyone was looked after and the day ran smoothly so that the team can concentrate on being creative.
